Playgroups

As an extension of our goal to provide a premium indoor playground, we are adding an exciting new offering - PLAYGROUPS! The FunZone partners, who are Yale and University of Pennsylvania alumnae, as well as parents and previous teachers, have selected experienced, top professionals to lead our English and Mandarin playgroups for children (adult accompanied).

We are proud to present the following teachers offering a unique curriculum, which can be customized to accommodate individual students needs. Upon completion of each module, students will receive a certificate of achievement for their portfolio. As an added bonus, after EACH class, your child (plus one adult) can stay to use the facilities at FunZone for free!

What’s new at Fun Zone?

We are now running English and Mandarin playgroup programs! In these programs, parents (or guardians) and children discover the wonders of language. Our professional teachers develop weekly activities that encourage motor-skills, co-ordination and early social development.  FunZone has recently built a playgroup area that is both safe and comfortable so children can feel physically and emotionally secure. At the end of each playgroup lesson, the students are allowed to stay and play at FunZone for FREE!

FunGroup Programs

How are the programs designed?

Our programs are divided by age to meet the needs of children during each stage of their development. Our classes are designed so both parents and children can learn together.  Parents and children are given language instruction that they can use at home and in their daily life (English vocabulary and Chinese characters).

Programs:
Wigglers (6-11 Months)

In these classes, parents, teachers and children work together to learn the importance of movement, song and sensory development in a child’s life.
(45 min classes)

Shakers (12-18 Months)

This enthusiastic program introduces children to sounds, shapes, colours, motor skills and creative thinking. All of these areas help children develop a love for education and the world around them.
(45 min classes)

Jumpers(19 Months – 2.5 Years)

This program helps students with their motor skills in a structured format. The activities in this program last for a longer period of time so students can reach their full learning potential.
(60 min classes)

Explorers (2.5 – 4 Years)

In this program, teaching foundation skills is a top priority. Students need to develop their intellectual (theme based), motor, social and emotional skills. Our students also learn how to interact with others, follow directions, cooperate within a group, and describe themselves. All of these skills are needed to successful participate in the Hong Kong Primary school enrolment scheme (interviews).
(60 min classes)

What happens during a lesson?

Our lessons are specifically designed to meet the needs of young children in Hong Kong. During each lesson, children participate in a variety of playgroup stations that have a direct link to one of the four principles to early childhood development: literacy (theme based learning), social skills, motor skills and sensory development. Our teachers change the activities and flow of each lesson to provide a stimulating and fun learning environment so your child can reach his/her full potential.

Who is teaching the programs?
